Ridgefield Troop 116 is known as the hiking troop.  We’re an active bunch, meeting Monday nights from 7:00 – 8:30 in the Carriage House at Jesse Lee Church.  Our three aims are leadership, advancement, and service.   We go camping once a month and, each summer, go on a High Adventure where we backpack in national parks such as Yosemite, Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Mt. Whitney. These are trips-of-a-lifetime that scouts never forget.

Troop 116 is fortunate to have very active participation by parents—our strong adult leadership is very experienced in the outdoors. Other troop highlights include:

• Organized troop meetings
• Nurturing advancement program for first year scouts
• Easy, one-day fundraising:  Christmas Tree Pickup in early January
• Active adult participation.  1:3 ratio-one adult for every three scouts
• High percentage of our scouts attain the rank of Eagle
